Meet the Founders
We're Ms. Hansi and Mr. Zayd — science teachers, co-founders, and passionate believers in accessible education.
We started Open Desk Learning because we saw a problem: private tuition can make a huge difference in a student’s life, but for many families, it’s simply out of reach.
As experienced science teachers, we knew we could do something about this starting with our local community.
I’m Ms Hansi- I’ve spent my teaching career in London secondary schools, where I’ve seen first-hand how the right support can change everything for a student. That’s why I believe in meeting every learner where they are.
And I’m Mr Zayd — I’ve taught science across England and Wales, led departments, and worked as an examiner. I’m passionate about helping students see the bigger picture of science and how it connects to their world.
Together, we created Open Desk Learning to offer high-quality, low-cost science tuition that truly makes a difference -starting from just £2.50 per class. We’re here to support, uplift, and inspire students at Key Stage 3 and GCSE — through group lessons, one-to-one support, and resources that make science accessible to all.

Group Tuition – £2.50 per session
1-to-1 Lessons
Friendly, small-group science classes led by an experienced teacher. Designed to support Key Stage 3 and GCSE students with curriculum content, exam preparation, and confidence-building. All classes are online, with limited in-person sessions available in Enfield.

We’re building a library of downloadable resources, practice questions, and video tutorials to help students revise independently — or with support.
